Wines from Armand de Brignac

Armand de Brignac

Armand de Brignac is a luxury Champagne, produced by the house of Cattier and its owner (since 2014) is the famous rapper and entrepreneur Shawn Corey “Jay-Z” Carter. The name was derived from a novel featuring a character named “de Brignac” and was already registered by Cattier just after the Second World War.

The collection consists of the “Brut Gold Cuvée”, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the “Blanc de Blancs” (100% Chardonnay), the “Brut Rosé”, The “Blanc de Noirs” (100% Pinot Noir) and the “Demi-Sec” Champagne. All the Armand de Brignac champagnes are produced as a non-vintage champagne, but in a multi-vintage style.

The champagnes are also known as “The Ace of Spades”, due to the French pewter logo on the opaque metallic bottles. The first release of the “Brut Gold Cuvée” (in a golden bottle) was in 2006, followed by the “Brut Rosé” (pink metallic bottle) and the “Blanc de Blancs” (silver bottle) in 2008. In 2015, Armand de Brignac also released the “Demi-sec” (pink metallic bottle) and the rare “Blanc de Noirs” (silver bottle).

The annual production in total is approximately 60.000 bottles and they are all finished by hand and put into a black, wooden lacquered box. This ensures that every bottle is unique! The various Champagnes from Armand de Brignac received very positive critics from the international wine reviewers and scored high points (90 -100) in various (blind) tastings.

They also produce the largest Champagne bottle available on earth, the 30-liter “Midas”, which may be found in exclusive night clubs. The price tag? At least € 50.000, if you are able to find it!
