Wines from Domaine Perrot Minot

Domaine Perrot Minot

Domaine Perrot-Minot’s origin dates back to the mid-19th century, when the properties of the Sigaut family from Chambolle-Musigny and the Morizot family from Morey-Saint-Denis were brought together. Just before the turning of the century, Esther Morizot married Amédée Merme and the name of the domaine became Domaine Merme-Morizot.

They increased the domaine’s holdings and acquired parcels of vineyards in some of the best appellations in the Côte d’Or. In 1963, Marie-France Merme (granddaughter of Amédée and Esther) married Henri Perrot-Minot and the name of the domaine changed to Domaine Perrot-Minot. Their son, Christophe Perrot-Minot became the manager of the estate in 1993, after a career as a wine broker.

The domaine is situated in Morey-Saint-Denis. Domaine Perrot-Minot expanded over the years and a négociant business was set up as well in 1999 to use purchased grapes from other winegrowers. The majority of the vineyards has been planted with Pinot Noir vines, some of them over 100 years old. The estate produces wine from no less than 7 Grands Crus (6 of them are situated in Gevrey-Chambertin), including Le Chambertin Grand Cru, Chambertin-Clos-de Bèze Grand Cru, Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru.

Domaine Perrot-Minot also produces two very limited and rare wines from vines which are over 100 years old: Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “La Richemone” Cuvée Ultra Vieilles Vignes and Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “La Combe d’Orveau” Cuvée Ultra Vieilles Vignes as well as an array of other Premiers Crus.

All the wines are bottled without being fined or filtered and since 2005, they carry a special traceability strip which figures an unique number to prevent counterfeiting. The portfolio of wines of Domaine Perrot-Minot has been highly appreciated by wine critics and wine lovers.
