Haut-Brion in the 2000 line-up

Haut-Brion in the 2000 line-up

Also part of the ‘big 2000s session’ discussed in earlier blog entries, was the Haut-Brion. How did this wine perform next to the four premier crus, Lafleur, Petrus, Pavie, and Cheval Blanc?

In this line up, the 2000 Haut-Brion ended up somewhere in the middle. It was very young, and would have needed at least 2 to 3 hours to decant. The wine itself is pure terroir. It already has a beautiful bouquet, but more importantly, it has great potential.
Our rating will increase as the wine ages, but for now BOW 9-
