A Somerset Surprise

A Somerset Surprise

The beautiful city of Bath in the county Somerset is a delight to visit. In the historical city centre you will find all kinds of small restaurants. After a pleasant stroll, we ended up at Amarone Ristorante, a classic Italian restaurant with – as the name suggests – an inviting wine list. ##

The daily special, a homemade rabbit pasta, was equally inviting, and we paired it with a Mastroberardino Taurasi Radici 2007, a wine we did not expect!

The 2007 Taurasi Radici Riserva is complex, boasting richness and power. Notes of dark cherries, cinnamon, plums, liquorice, and tobacco develop in the glass. This wine from Mastroberardino is superb, and paired well with the rabbit. This is no doubt one of the best wines from Campania, and if you ever come across it, do not hesitate for a moment!
